MISSIONS
First Baptist Church is a participating member of the Southern Baptist Convention, supporting missions and ministry through the Cooperative Program. Supporting the International Mission Board (IMB) through the Lottie Moon Offering and the North American Mission Board (NAMB) through the Annie Armstrong Offering. We host an Operation Christmas Child Packing Party in November to support sharing the good news of the gospel globally to act on the commands of The Great Commission. The church also arranges to financially support or take trips with various gospel-centered missionary endeavors. Some past missions that the church has supported financially or with our hands and feet are refugee relief in Ukraine, orphanage ministry in Mexico, and church plants in Canada.
Regionally, FBC Nocona is a member of and supports churches state-wide through the Baptist General Convention of Texas. We also are an active member of the Harvest Baptist Association, which helps to support and plant churches in Jack, Montague and Wise Counties. Some of our members also regularly travel around Texas and Oklahoma supporting disaster relief with Texas Baptist Men.
Locally, FBC Nocona is a member of and the financial steward for the Nocona Ministerial Alliance. This is a group of local churches that contribute funds to help people of Nocona with needs such as food, utility assistance, medical needs, fuel, or overnight housing. We also partner with the Nocona Carpenter Shop in its Meals on Wheels program, providing meals to those in need. FBC Nocona also advocates for and supports families and children in Montague County through the work of Clear Choice Pregnancy Resource Center.
In 2024 we have mission trips to New Orleans and Montana planned. We also are hosting a Thanksgiving meal prep and distribution outreach program on Thanksgiving.
