2024 MISSION TRIPS

New Orleans Mission Trip

During our time in New Orleans, we partnered with Refuge Church NOLA through a missions organization called Kaleo. Refuge Church is located in the Marigny, which is just east of the French Quarter by about a mile or two. We served the community and the church by cleaning storm drains; praying for the salvation of Muslims at a local mosque; getting into spiritual and gospel conversations with people at coffee shops, a laundromat, and out on the street; and also by attending Refuge Church's prayer meeting.

We spent a day in the French Quarter exploring the culturally rich aspects of the city and enjoyed time together at City Park in Mid City. We were able to experience the greatest cultural reality in New Orleans: the food! We ate snow balls (which are not the same thing as a snow cone!), beignets, and some really great seafood. We also ate red beans and rice, crawfish pies, and jambalaya.

While in New Orleans we certainly wanted to enjoy our time together and to experience the incredibly diverse city; however, the main reason we went to New Orleans was to encourage Refuge Church, and to glorify God. To make His name known in the city and to those in the community. We are so thankful that we were able to partner with Refuge Church to help spread God’s glory in the New Orleans and we hope to be able to partner with them in the future.
