Here at First Baptist Church, we believe that parents have the primary job of spiritually training and discipling their own children, and that part of our role as a church is to help them in that quest. The goal of our Children’s Ministry is to reinforce the biblical teaching that our kids receive at home, but also to provide a safe, loving place of hope and instruction for those children who don’t have a home where they are exposed to the love of God as displayed in the gospel. We accomplish this goal in a number of ways.

Kids Rock

Join us Wednesday evenings from 4:30-6:00 PM in the Family Life Center for a fun time of games, crafts, snacks, and teaching from God’s Word. Usually we provide dinner for our Kids Rock children. You can follow our page on Facebook for weekly updates.

Sunday School

Our Children’s Sunday School class begins at 9:30 AM and coincides with our Family Group Sunday School Class and our Senior Sunday School Class. Children’s Sunday School is for children age 4 through 5th grade and takes place in the classrooms next to our Nursery.

Children's Church

During the Worship Through the Word portion of our Sunday morning family Worship Service, children age 4 through 2nd grade are invited to attend an age-appropriate teaching time with some of our adult leaders. They will start in the auditorium with the regular worship service and then will be dismissed after the Songs of Praise. The children are brought back to the auditorium during Songs of Response and Reflection at the end of Worship Service. Typically, the last Sunday of the month we do not have Children’s Church and instead invite all children to stay and experience our full Sunday Morning Worship Service with the rest of our congregation.

Vacation Bible School

Each summer we partner with Bethel Baptist Church to host Vacation Bible School for all school aged children who will be entering kindergarten thru 6th grade.

Nursery Services

Our nusery is available for infants and toddlers to the age of 4. It is overseen by volunteers on our Childrens Ministry team. Your children can be checked in before the beginning of Worship Service and picked up after service is over. If you would like to serve in our rotation of nursery volunteers, please speak with a staff member!

What We Teach

Your kids will experience an age appropriate lesson that will teach them about who God is and what he has done for us through his son, Jesus. The teaching is interactive and utilizes multiple approaches for different learning styles. Most of our material and lessons come from Share Faith Kids Ministry Curriculum. These lessons, while entertaining, are always focused on growing our children's relationship with Jesus.
